Day 29: Romeoville, IL to Chicago IL
Just a quick update:
NO RAIN!
Sunshine at the Navy Pier, even.
A fabulous breakfast at Lou Mitchell’s restaurant in downtown Chicago. Apple and cheese omelette: Who’d have guessed such a thing existed?
Now waiting at the airport to fly home….
(OK, the day started out pretty cold, but who cares if it’s cold as long as it doesn’t rain?)
Thanks to all my fellow Route 66 travelers and to PAC Tour for a once-(probably)-in-a-lifetime experience.
Jim
Congrats!!!
I have really enjoyed reading your blog and it will be fun to catch up at Davis.
P.S. Your stoker got heat “acclimated” ( to put it kindly) this weekend

Nice meeting your group as it wended its way through Caldwell Woods Forest Preserve to your final hotel stop in Niles, IL. Congratulations on completing your historic ride.

I couldn’t make the trip but reading your daily reports I could visualize being there (although not as much fun, most days). Thanks for taking the time to post your reports. I’ve done several PAC Tours and know how tired you can get from the day to day grind. I hope to make the next Route 66 trip in 4 years or whenever.
